Annual Leicestershire Tourism and Hospitality Awards
The Leicestershire Tourism Awards, hosted by Leicestershire Promotions, is one of the largest business celebration events in Leicestershire, recognising and rewarding the county’s billion-pound visitor economy.
The awards celebrate the very best of what the county has to offer. Recognising outstanding organisations, sustainable practices and recently launched new businesses in the sector.
In partnership with the VisitEngland Awards of Excellence. Leicestershire winners will be put forward to the national awards in the hope of being shortlisted.
Award entries are easy to complete and are open to all leisure and hospitality businesses in Leicestershire across 15 categories. Businesses can enter more than one category if relevant.
Entries open May 19th 2026, with a ceremony to announce and celebrate the winners taking place in December.
In-person workshops are held to provide practical advice and top tips on how to complete your application.
Applications for 2026 will OPEN 19th May.
Launch of the Leicestershire Tourism & Hospitality Awards
This year’s launch will take place at The Old Plough, Birstall on Tuesday 19th May 2026.
The agenda includes categories, deadlines for applications as well as tips on what it takes to stand out from the crowd. There’ll also be an opportunity to discuss categories with the team and book onto workshops.

STEAM Surveys
Understanding the value of tourism is essential for supporting growth across Melton’s visitor economy. Our annual STEAM (Scarborough Tourism Economic Activity Monitor) Survey provides businesses with clear, reliable insights into how visitors engage with our area.
By analysing local data – including visitor numbers, accommodation occupancy, event attendance and spending patterns – the STEAM model builds a detailed picture of tourism’s economic contribution to Melton. This bottom-up approach reflects the unique characteristics of our local visitor offer, helping businesses and partners make informed decisions about investment, marketing and future development.
As we continue to attract more visitors to the area, these insights play a key role in shaping our shared strategy, strengthening Melton’s position as a must-visit destination and supporting business growth across the sector.
Our Networking opportunities available
The Melton Food & Drink Network is a bi-annual forum that brings together producers from across the Melton area to collaborate, share insights and celebrate the strength of our local food and drink sector. Each event is hosted at a different venue, such as Stockyard Melton Mowbray, The Grange Garden Centre, Samworth Brothers’ Craft & Innovation Centre, and Ferneley’s Dairy, showcasing the diversity and creativity of Melton’s renowned food landscape.
Curated by Melton Borough Council, the network provides an inspiring space for the sector to connect, hear from sector experts and explore opportunities for growth and collaboration.
Whether you’re an established producer or just starting out, the Melton Food & Drink Network offers a welcoming platform to strengthen relationships, spark new ideas and contribute to Melton’s reputation as the Rural Capital of Food.
