Buckminster Gliding Club

Founded in 1971 we are a non-profit making organisation run for the benefit of our members.  Located near Buckminster at Saltby Airfield,  with 150 members. We fly throughout the year and welcome visitors experiencing gliding for the first time.

We offer First Flight Experiences for those who want an introduction to glider flying and Introductory Lessons for those who wish to consider learning to fly a glider. So, whether you’re interested yourself or are buying a gift for someone else take a look at what we offer.

Flying in a Glider is a totally unique method of flight. Our First Flight Experiences are aimed at those with little or no experience of flying. It provides an introduction to the delights and sensations of flying in a glider or motor glider as an ideal ‘taster’. A BGA qualified Instructor will take you for your flight(s) after a safety briefing.

If you are an established glider pilot and want to expand your skills with aerobatic, motor gliding or cloud flying we are able to tailor a gliding package for you.
