Returning in 2026, the Melton Mowbray Christmas Market transforms the historic town centre with festive market stalls, live music, street entertainment, fairground attractions and a stunning Christmas lights switch-on. From seasonal shopping and local food and drink to family-friendly activities and festive atmosphere, it’s a weekend packed with Christmas cheer and timeless charm.

Christmas Tree Festival

Opens 27th – 01st December

Don’t miss the magical Christmas tree festival at St Mary’s Church in Melton Mowbray. The church will open from 9am with vary closing times, entrance fee £3. The festival will close at 2pm on Tuesday 01 December. Late night opening on Friday 27th to coincide with the Christmas market and lights switch-on event.

Christmas Lights Switch-On Concert

27 November, 6pm to 8pm

Melton Mowbray Christmas Lights Switch-On returns with a magical evening of festive entertainment. From 6pm to 8pm, enjoy live performances from special guest stars, festive music and family-friendly fun as excitement builds towards the big switch-on. Soak up the Christmas atmosphere, explore the town centre and celebrate the start of the festive season in the heart of Melton Mowbray.

Christmas at Belvoir Castle: Deck the Halls

14th November – 30th December

A pesky witch appeared at Belvoir and cursed the whole estate. The adventure playground is enchanted. The Animal Park animals have been transformed. Even the cauldron in the Retail Village has started bubbling. Only a properly brewed counter-curse can break the spell — and that means Curse Breakers. You!

19th – 24th December

Santa Story Time at Wymondham Windmill brings festive tales to life in a magical Christmas setting.
