Here’s what you can expect when you visit Melton Mowbray’s markets…
The vibrant market town has an abundance of specialist independent retailers, tasty bistros and cafes, local producers and let’s not forget the famous markets that can be dated back to the 1086 Domesday Book.
The Stockyard sheds have seen trading for more than 150 years. Once it used to be sheep, cattle and pigs; now our sheds are alive every week for our busy markets on a Tuesday, Friday and Sunday throughout the year.
Weekly Markets
Tuesdays – Farmers Market with Antiques, Vintage and Collectables open 8am until 1pm
Friday – Farmers Market open 8am until 12 noon
Sunday – Sunday Market and Carboot Sale
The Farmers Market buzzes with a selection of the best local produce; including fresh fish, butcher; cheeses and eggs andch much more.
Melton Street Market is one of the country’s oldest. Every Tuesday and Saturday you can experience the hustle & bustle of the town’s busy street market. Based around the Market Place in a safe pedestrianised area of the town, the streets are filled with stalls selling everything from clothing to fresh produce.
The Craft Vintage and Artisan Market returns Sunday April 2nd 2023 with many traders, including those offering vintage clothing & accessories, jewellery, prints, ceramics, gifts, eco-products and much, much more. Further craft markets will take place on the first Sunday of each month May 7th, June 4th, July 2nd, August 6th, September 3rd, October 4th and November 5th. All dates are weather permitting.
