DESCRIPTION:Enjoy an evening of calm\, live cello music in the beautiful setting of St John’s church and hall. The cello and Rob play and sing music ranging from Irish\, Scottish and English traditional to John Dowland\, taking in the Beatles\, Schubert and Bach on the way. \nThe concert offers a gentle programme of music in a relaxed atmosphere\, ideal for unwinding. We always aim at having a raffle\, some bric-a-brac for sale\, home-made cakes to supplement the cream teas\, and lots of friendly chat. Many people don’t know there is a church garden\, so come and discover this beautiful and peaceful place in the heart of the bustling town. Now that we have a brand new hall\, the event is also weather-proof! Refreshments will be served inside\, to be eaten inside or  in the garden as weather permits. DESCRIPTION:Come and discover this beautiful historic church as we open the doors for our first Heritage Open Day. This Victorian church was designed by the famous A.W.N. Pugin\, who also designed the interior of the Houses of Parliament. \nFree guided tours of the church are running at 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm. See if you can solve any of the church mysteries detailed in the guide book “History and Mystery”. We even have a murder mystery for you to follow which is fun for both adults and children. \nRefreshments for sale. \nAll proceeds will go to Friends of St John’s church to help support the upkeep of the church and its role as a welcoming space for worship\, heritage and community events.

SUMMARY:Festival of Christmas Wreaths
DESCRIPTION:The Christmas Wreath festival is a showcase of Christmas Wreaths made by the community of Melton Mowbray as part of a competition. \nChristmas Wreaths are made by local businesses\, schools\, nursery schools and parishioners as well as members of the public and local groups. \nThere will be a visitors vote for each category to see who the winners are. \nThe event is free entry although we ask that you make a donation if you can towards the charities aims.
