The Council is supporting six priority areas for the period 2020 to 2024. It means working with partners to promote Melton. Delivering on the expectations that established Melton as the country’s Rural Capital of Food. Supporting inclusive growth strategies by improving access to higher paid jobs, better skills and initiatives that tackle the low wage economy.

In addition, the strategy includes regenerating the town centre, encouraging inward investment and creating new jobs while increasing the housing supply by supporting private development and private landlords. Council assets will also be deployed to build more homes. You can be sure of a pragmatic commercial approach in managing Council assets.

Establishing an affordable and sustainable future for leisure facilities will commence in 2022.

Finally, the Council is committed to supporting the delivery of the Melton bypass and any other infrastructure to enable growth.
