Food Enterprise Centre Technologist Service

Melton’s new Food Enterprise Centre is offering a free food science and technology advice service to local food and drink manufacturing businesses located within the Borough of Melton.

Learn about product development, quality management, evaluation, sourcing, scale-up and much more.

Initially, you can receive up to two days’ support through direct discussion of your query or brief with the FEC local food technologist, Alice Jones.

The technical support and advice cover areas such as:

  • Product development
  • Research and innovation
  • Process development
  • Technical problem-solving
  • Food safety, quality management and compliance
  • Product evaluation and testing (analytical and sensory)
  • Raw material supply and sourcing
  • Scale-up (establishment / expansion / diversification)

You will also have the opportunity to be signposted towards and connected to further resources or local services that are available, such as business advisors, facilities, colleges and universities that have specialist expertise.

SMEs and start-ups are especially encouraged to get in touch and make the most of this free service.

If you are looking for support to develop a product, expand your current product range, or would benefit from some ad-hoc technical support and advice, Alice is here to help.

Get in touch directly with Alice to discuss your food technology and product development needs.

Please note: the technologist service is currently available one day per week. Enquiries will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis.
