Willoughby on the Wolds Open Gardens Back by Popular Demand
Get ready for a blooming marvellous day out on Sunday 16th June.
The varied and beautiful gardens of Willoughby on the Wolds will once again be opening for charity on Sunday 16th June. Many of the gardens will be opening for the first time so something different for those who have visited before.
With children’s activities, plant sales, a tour of Willoughby Woods with the village’s resident Tree Warden, a display of patchwork quilts at St Mary and All Saints Church as well as the opportunity to view the church’s rare Alabaster Collection, there really will be something for everyone.
The village has recently adopted a biodiversity policy. One initiative underway is the creation of hedgehog byways to protect the local hedgehog population and packs will be on sale at the Village Hall.
Ploughman’s lunches, homemade cakes and refreshments will be available throughout the afternoon.
The village’s last Open Gardens event in 2022 was a huge success and enabled £4,200 to be donated to village groups as well as to four charities (Rainbows Hospice, The Children’s Air Ambulance, Music for Everyone and a local charity The Tomorrow Project).
The event runs from 12 noon – 5pm. Entry is £5 per adult, children free. Tickets can be purchased from any garden.
