Established in 2008, Rutland Concert Band is a vibrant community wind ensemble providing a platform for musicians of all ages and skill levels. With over 60 members spanning from primary school students to retirees, our repertoire ranges from beloved film scores like Pirates of the Caribbean to classical pieces such as Mozart’s The Impressario. Led by our experienced conductor, Ian Halcrow, who brings a wealth of expertise from his tenure with the Cambrai Staff Band and his studies at the Royal Military School of Music, Kneller Hall, we delight audiences with performances at events like Proms in the Park and Christmas concerts throughout the year.
The upcoming performance will feature an exciting lineup including timeless classics like “Army of the Nile” and “Le Lac Des Cygnes,” alongside toe-tapping favorites such as “A Few Dots of Polka” and “The Lion King.” Prepare to be enchanted by the haunting melodies of “O Mio Babbino Caro” and swept away by the dramatic flair of “Music from Carmen.” But that’s not all! Rutland Concert Band will also be bringing the magic of Disney to life with selections from “Frozen” and “A Disney Spectacular.” With a blend of iconic tunes from Broadway to the big screen, this promises to be an evening of musical delight for all ages!
