Melton Mowbray Town Estate FREE Summer Band Concerts

The Bandstand is a listed Grade II Building and was listed in 1976 via Historic England. It’s original construction was circa-1908. It formed part of the project that Mr Henry Wood (Townwarden 1905-1909) undertook to create a new civic amenity in the town centre. His final vision was created in the form of “New Park”.

A full list of dates is below and each regular band concert runs from 2:45pm to 4:30pm.

Croft Silver Band, a dynamic fourth-section ensemble, delights audiences year-round with diverse performances, ranging from traditional marches to bespoke arrangements. Welcoming players of all levels, they foster inclusivity and camaraderie. Established in 1902 as the Croft Brass and Reed Band, they became Croft Silver Band over 70 years ago, overcoming challenges. Under conductors like David Hughes and Richard S. Warren, they achieved contest victories, leaving a legacy of excellence. Now led by Musical Director Henry Dunger, a former member bringing fresh energy, they eagerly anticipate new musical adventures.
