The VisitEngland Awards for Excellence celebrate the nation’s leading tourism and visitor-focused businesses – from small bed and breakfasts to large attraction sand business events venues, celebrating quality, innovation and customer service. Winning an award shows that your business is among the best in the country, and provides valuable media exposure, business development and networking opportunities.
Entries are open until 26th July for the attractions categories, and 13th September for all the other categories.

The process begins with a series of regional local tourism awards, which feed up to the national VisitEngland Awards for Excellence. All you need to do is complete a single application to our regional local contest – Leicestershire Promotions Tourism & Hospitality Awards 2024. If you win, you’ll automatically proceed to the national contest, which is decided by a team of expert judges.

In the Leicestershire Promotions Awards, there are two types of categories:
- Local: these categories are only offered at a regional level. (Leicestershire). Completed using a paper application form.
- Core: these categories feed into the national awards, so all winners are put forward to the main judging panel. These categories use an application form that is consistent across all local competitions.
The overall winners of core categories are automatically submitted to the national judging, culminating in the prestigious VisitEngland Awards for Excellence event, where the national winners are announced.
Best Day Out in Leicestershire – Attraction / Experience – Public Nominations – Now Open
As part of the 2024 Leicestershire Tourism and Hospitality Awards, local people and visitors are invited to nominate their own choice of Best Day Out in Leicestershire. There are no restrictions on the type or style of venue nominated. It could be an attraction, restaurant, tearoom, event etc.
The closing date to vote is 31st October 2024.

Deadlines – all entries for large or small attractions must be submitted by July 26th to allow judging to take place during the summer. All other categories close on September 13th.
